I must pay my compliments to Peter "Cineramax" on how it sounds. From day one, he was telling me that he wanted a "musical system" and boy did he deliver! I was streaming Aa movie the other day while doing some work on my laptop, and every time a music number came up, I could not resist. I had to look up and just take it in. The speakers are so melodic. It was never my objective, but I was happy to consider a stretch goal. And now, I'm ecstatic at the sound! Just wow. Love it!
On a related note, I was also streaming "Godzilla vs. Kong" and having 8" woofers for the surrounds sure came in handy. When Kong's growl goes off camera and pans into the columns, it didn't lose much of its impact compared to the front speakers (which use 10" woofers).
Having speakers on the sides and tops that compete effectively with the sounds quality of the front stage is a critical design component. Again, my hat off to Peter for anticipating the outcome!
